Acrochordon
Etymology:
Gr. ákros: “highest, peak, at the extremity” + Gr. khordḗ: "string of gut or chord (especially of a lyre or harp)"
Definition:
A soft, pedunculated (meaning on a string or stalk—imagine the shape of a mushroom, with the head of the mushroom being a peak) or pensile growth of tissue, consisting of myomatous or edematous fibrous tissue, often found on the neck or eyelids. It forms primarily in areas where the skin forms creases (or rubs together), such as the neck, armpit and groin. Colloquially known as a skin tag.
