Adductor hallucis
Etymology:
From L. addūcō: "to bring to myself" (from ad-: “to, towards, near” + dūcō: “lead, bring”) + L. hallux: "big toe"
Definition:
A muscle in the foot that is responsible for moving the big toe toward the foot (i.e. adduction). It has two heads (oblique and transverse), both are innervated by the lateral plantar nerve.
