Etymology:
Gr. amaúrōsis: "darkening, dimming, obscuring" + L. fugāx: “fleeting, transitory”
Definition:
A painless transitory loss of vision in one or both eyes; classically described as a "dark curtain coming down vertically into the field of vision in one eye".
