Amblyopia

Etymology:

Gr. ambluōpós: “dim-sighted”, from Gr. amblús: “blunt, dull”

Definition:

Dull or blunted sight that occurs when one eye—usually not both—cannot properly communicate with the brain and thus the brain is unable to recognize what the eye is seeing. Also colloquially named a "lazy eye."
