Canthus
Etymology:
Definition:
L. canthus: “the tire of a wheel”
Either corner of the eye, where the eyelids meet. More specifically, the inner and outer canthi are, respectively, the medial and lateral ends/angles of the palpebral fissure.
Note: the simile here is a bit of a stretch, but perhpas the canthi could be seen as a tire circumscribing the eye, which could be likened to a wheel in this sense.
