Definition:
Gr. khulós: “juice of an animal” (referring to lymphatic fluid) + Gr. thṓrax: “a breastplate, cuirass, corslet”
An accumulation of chyle (namely, lymphatic fluid) in the pleural cavity, which is located in the thorax (considered to be above the diaphragm and below the neck).
