Etymology:

Gr. erúthēma: “a redness or flush on the skin”, from eruthrós: “red” + Gr. multifōrmis from multus: “many” +‎ -fōrmis “having the form of”

Definition:

Type IV hypersensitivity reaction associated with Herpes Simplex Virus infection. Abnormal redness and inflammation of the skin, in many variable forms.
