Pectineus
Etymology:
L. pectineus: “comblike”, so named because of its resemblance to a short comb
Definition:
A flat, quadrangular muscle resembling a comb, situated at the anterior part of the upper and medial aspect of the thigh, whose primary function is hip flexion.
