French plafond: “ceiling”, from Gr. platús: “broad, flat” + L. fundus: "bottom, base"
Definition:
In reference to the tibial plafond, the distal aspect of the tibia serving as the "ceiling" of the joint made up by the tibia (superior) and talus (inferior) bones.
