Etymology:
Gr. présbus: “elder, older” + Gr. -akoustikós: “of or for hearing”
Definition:
Age-related (i.e. "elderly") hearing loss. More specifically, inability of the ears, due to aging, to perceive and focus on high-pitched sounds.
