Brandon Wilde
Founder & Executive Director
At the University of Utah, Brandon is an MD/MBA candidate in the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine and David Eccles School of Business. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry while playing as an NCAA Division I athlete. Within the school of medicine, he is a tutor for first and second-year medical students, Student Director of the RealMD program, and member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He also performs health equity research at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and clinical research within the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Utah. He has multiple primary and co-authored publications in the fields of nanotechnology, orthopedics, and community literacy, which is part of his journey into starting Medymology.
Before starting medical school, Brandon worked at Westminster University's community writing center, first as a writing consultant and later as center liaison. His experiences here with students from over 20 countries reinforced passions for teaching and writing through the lenses of community literacy and narrative medicine. Upon starting medical school, these passions mixed in with wanting an easier way to learn the "language of medicine" bore the idea to create Medymology. He is driven by how Medymology can improve health literacy, contribute to public health initiatives, and help health sciences students and teachers around the world.
