Urachus
Etymology:
Gr. ouron: "urine" + cheo: "I pour"
Definition:
A fetal canal connecting the urinary bladder to the allantois. This becomes a band of fibrous tissue extending from the bladder to the umbilicus in the later weeks of a developing embryo, which then becomes the median umbilical ligament in an adult.
